I couldn't get any help from any agent because the automated response ends when no account number can be provided, as the customer calling is seeking information. It seems the only thing of interest is payment; providing information to new customers is of secondary or third importance.
No tuve la oportunidad de hacer la pregunta a un costumer service porque no tengo cuenta con ustedes.
User's recommendation: No pierdan el tiempo tratando de comunicarse. No atienden a personas comunes., solo a clientes.

Verified Reviewer |Exeter Finance Preditory Lending
- - I bought a car to help my mother get to medical appointments.
- - Predatory lending targets vulnerable people with poor credit and high interest.
The issue
I purchased a car in desperate need to help transport my mother to and from medical appointments, only to find out that the company is a predatory lender who preys on vulnerable individuals with compromised credit. This company's deceitful practices have left me and countless others in a state of financial despair, stripping away not only our hard-earned money but our dignity and security in the process.
Predatory lending is a deeply unethical practice that targets individuals when they are at their most vulnerable.
These lenders exploit people with poor credit ratings, often offering loans with exorbitant interest rates and unfavorable terms, trapping individuals in cycles of debt that they struggle to escape. This practice disproportionately affects low-income families, minorities, and the elderly, who may not have the financial literacy or resources to defend themselves against such operations.
- Interest
- Loss of money
- And the loan never gets paid off
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Tell as many people as you can not to do business with this company

Verified Reviewer |Terrible experience regarding payments
- - Online payments are capped and you can't pay off the loan online.
- - A 15-day quote requires a check, and a 24-hour payment limit lets interest accrue.
Predatory style lending. They limit the amount you can pay online.
You cannot pay your loan off online. They will only give you a 15-day quote that you have to send a check in for. They limit the amount you can pay in a 24-hour period, meaning that you will continue to accumulate interest. I thought it would be easy to go online and pay my car loan off, and they don't allow you to if it is less than the daily limit.
Only a win-win for them and the dealership! Terrible practice!
- Rude customer service
- Predatory lending
- Online payment limits
Preferred solution: No extra interest due to the fact that I can not pay my loan off in full online or over the phone or pay any other way than sending in a check and hoping they process it rapidly.
User's recommendation: Use another company or use as a last alternative.

Verified ReviewerWill not apply payment to principal
- - Two payments to Exeter were not credited to the principal.
- - I had to call to fix principal payments; after three calls, BBB complaint filed.
I have made two payments to Exeter, and neither time has the company credited my principal amount. I had to call to make a specific payment to principal and call back again to get it moved to principal.
I complied.
I have called three times to get this corrected, and it still remains outstanding. I filed a complaint with the BBB.
- Deceptive practices
Preferred solution: Correct application of payment
User's recommendation: I would find a company that doesn’t make you follow a process that they can’t administer. Avoid Exeter
Because I want my title not a reduced rate for something I don't owe
- - Wants the car title.
- - Won't pay more than owed; car isn't running due to transmission.
- - Wants loan paid-in-full evidence; has an attorney.
I want the title to my car and I am not sending any more money that I do not owe iwant my title even though the car is no longer running due to transmission problems and I want loan to show paid in full if not I have an attorney that is my first cons
I will have more information when my cousin gets back from Germany and he contacts Exeter either through mail or phone but he already knows the situation
They take advantage of you when they agree or suggest that they can do something for you but don't tell you that there is a significant financial penalty or charge for doing so plus many hidden fees

Make a payment
Ive been trying to call and make a payment for the laat three days. Each time that i call, the phone continues to ring and no one answers.
Same thing occurred last month. Ive tried using the online portal to make a payment and yet im being prompted to call in. Again, I've made several attempts to make a payment and to no avail has anyone taken the time to answer my calls. This is a disgrace to say the least.
Funny thing is, just last month i experienced the exact same thing calling from my personal number and wasnt able to get though. When i used *67 to call in someone promptly answered my call and i was able to make a payment. Im afraid to mail in a payment because of fear that you all will say you havent received such payment.
Listen, i just need someone to answer the phone so that i can make my payment. Your company has already stressed me out and made my life a living ***

"Predatory lending" is always the sign of an excuse making serial deadbeat. YOU signed an agreement in which YOU said YOU would make each payment ON TIME, EVERYTIME! Serial deadbeats just can't stand the consequences THEY CAUSE when they don't pay on time and there's ALWAYS an excuse and its ALWAYS somebody else's fault!
You only had to look at the sticker price, monthly payment and length of loan. If you failed to do that, that falls back on you.
Do you research before you comment and maybe you will understand
That’s what you needed to do. I’m not the one who haphazardly signed a loan agreement and then cried about it later.
Again, sticker price, monthly payment and length of loan.
If you could not highlight these three items on your copy of the contract you failed. The fact that you want to whine afterward or debate me is comical.
Start from the beginning, why did you sign the loan documents? You're just as much to blame for this situation.
Focus on your credit by paying your bills and you wouldn't be in this situation. The reason you need the car, completely irrelevant.
